Blasting My Quads

One of the few downsides of being an internet marketer is prolonged sitting at one's desk. It creates extreme atrophy in the hamstrings and a shorting of the calf muscles.

To break up the winter blahs, and to get my body in shape, I joined a health club. I train 3-4 days a week with my buddy Dave Pynn.

Yesterday was "Leg Day". We did 4 sets of leg extensions on this cool Cybex machine. Each leg is independent, so you're doing leg extensions two at time, but each leg is working on its own. Killer...you get to see which is your strong leg and weak leg. I think we worked up to 100 lbs for about 12 reps.

Then over to the Smith Machine for some dreaded squats. The Pynnster is new to these, so I took it easy on him. 4 sets, with 2 work sets. One was a single plate to failure, one was 185 lbs to failure. He looked a little pale at the end. Heh, heh!

7 sets is not a lot by the magazine standards, but without being on the "juice" and working to failure, its enough, more than enough!

I am walking a little woozy today...but its great to get out from in front of the computer and toss a little iron around the gym. With summer just 90 days a way, now is the time!
